Happy new year eve to everyone! Today mark e last day of year 2010. Time to have new resolution for a brand new year of 2011 =)

Yesterday met up with e gals. Dine at a newly open place & it really look class. Maybe e place still consider new, very few people patronize there. But...it was a long walk from raffles place mrt stn =p We have japanese ramen. One of my friend & I chose e dessert set (1 ramen, 1 soup, 1 drink, 1 dessert & 1 salad) while my another friend chose large set (1 large ramen, 1 drink, 1 soup & 1 salad). Customers are entitle to 1 serving of e salad, although is like buffet style we have to pick e salad ourselves. The ramen is at reason price. Worth trying =)

After dinner, we strolled along MBS & all e way to esplande as one of my friends have not been to MBS & e helix bridge yet.

dinner at patio

stirlon steak
stirlon steak (is small piece not because cover by e veg)

lamb shrank

It's e last second day of e yr 2010. Time really flies.
Went dinner at patio alexandar last night. Had bought 2 vouchers online through deal.com. Somehow felt cheated due to e unclear written sentence on e voucher. Is a voucher of $20 @$14. It's written '30% off main course, pasta, desserts and beer for lunch/dinner'. I had misunderstood it. Guess they should have wrote it as '30% off main course/pasta/desserts/beer for lunch/dinner'. The waiter told us that e voucher entitle us to $40 worth of food, so we could choose from either categories. We could top up if e amount exceed. So we ordered 2 main courses, one stirlon steak & one lamb shrank. In this case, we would have to top up $8. However, they calculate e bill in a 'smart' way. They deducted $40 nett after e whole bill with gst & service charge instead of charging e gst & service charge on e top up amount $8 only. So end up, we top up $16.50 instead of $9.36 -_-" This is not e main issue. Firstly, their service wasn't that good. We made an reservation in e afternoon but they didn't reserve e seats for us. Secondly, e food was slightly over price. This suppose to be a chill out place too, but e ambient is only average. It doesn't have this chilling ambient =p When they served e stirlon steak, my eyes were wide opened & stunned. The piece of e steak was really damn small. The price was almost double e lamb shrank and yet e serving portion of e lamb shrank was bigger. -_-" But must admit e lamb shrank taste much more better than e steak although e sauce is slightly too sour. Will never dine there again. Guess I can get better steak at Jack's place and is even cheaper =p

holiday mood

Today is monday. Some companies are still having holiday because they have 1 day in lieu, but I don't have =( I'm still in holiday mood. Yesterday went down to toa payoh furniture shop to check up e wardrobe. I'm not getting any new wardrobe but my sis is =p She has placed an order & arrange for mid january delivery. So now till mid january, we have about 2 weeks to pack & clear e stuffs to make space for her new wardrobe. Though it's placed in her room, but somehow I'm affected too with e packing. Because she's removing away e half spoiled big bookshelf from her room. And this bookshelf is shared items, which mean half of e bookshelf is filled with my stuffs. So I've to pack my stuffs off e bookshelf & find another space for those stuffs =( Managed to pack off my stuffs into 2 big boxes yesterday night. Also threw away quite alot of stuffs (few big plastic bags) haha =p

Oh ya! After visiting the furniture shop, we headed to get milk tea =) Initially wanted to get koi, but before we reached koi, we passed by a newly opened milk tea shop called COMEBUY. They having openly promotion. Milk tea @S$2 per cup. Only for original flavour milk tea. We decided to give it a try =) Queue wasn't long haha But we found that it doesn't taste as nice as koi, share tea & gong cha =p With 50% sugar level, it's still abit too sweet for us & e milk tea isn't rich & milky enough. We found that abit diluted =p

boxing day

Happy boxing day to everyone! Today is the day where we will open our presents that we have received during xmas. But....I have no presents to open. That's because I have already opened up all my presents once I received! LOL Can't wait to see what I have received. Yesterday night went for another gift exchange. I got a nice jewellery box =) I like e quality & it matches well with my room furniture haha hmm..I have never get myself any jewellery boxes so far because I find it not really suitable & organise & helpful for my jewelleries. I still prefer those big & flat arcylic tray with alot of divider/slots/compartments, so that I can place it into e drawer. Once I pull open the drawer, I'll be able to select e jewellery that I want to wear for e day =)

huge cubes of choco in my glass container =)

This choco was introduced to me by my dear twins. Luv this choco very much. This e first time I had this choco. Once I opened the packet, the sweet fragrance of e choco was very strong. Even my mom commented that e choco smell very nice. Nice choco although very sweet. It is in big cube shape also. My first time seeing such a big cube shape choco lol Guess people with sweet tooth will luv this. Thnx my twins! =D

manuka honey

While waiting for our milk tea on Sunday, we notice this shop that sell honey beside share tea stall. It's e little bottle of honey that is wrap in xmas bag that caught our attention. Quite nice to give as a gift. It comes in various sizing & price. They have manuka honey in e mini too =) I was considering to get one as I still have one gift exchange not buy yet =p As they are newly open, they have opening special. 1L of manuka honey (organic active 12+) at very gd price & 1L for 1L. My sis & I find it quite a gd deal as we know e usual price of manuka honey is quite expensive. We got e 2 X 500g btls and free 2 X 500g btls =D I'll be giving away 2 btls as xmas gifts. Such a gd gift, where to find with this gift budget. Jus right, I don't have to haunt for e remaining 2 xmas gifts haha

4 goden rules of consuming honey:
avoid hot water
avoid using metal spoon
avoid fridge storage
best taken with an empty stomach, first thing in the morning

Benefits of manuka honey: cure burns & wounds, diarrhoea & stomach ulcers. Best is with UMF level 10 or greater.

a day at orchard

It's Sunday =) Ytd I woke up slightly earlier than usual for breakfast before going for service. Had a breakfast set (two half boiled eggs, one toasted bread & tea). I luv eggs regardless of which cooking methods (half boiled, hard boiled, fry, etc), but if half boil, it really has to be half boiled. But e half boiled eggs served to me this morning was almost hard boiled. The moment I broke open e 2nd egg, I was utterly disappointed when I saw it was again almost hard boiled. I took back to e auntie & lucky e auntie was nice enough to cook another two half boiled for me =)

After the church service, I mtg up with my twins to go service my phone. The battery of my iphone was always giving me problem. It can show 100% for one whole day despite e heavy usage on e particular day & suddenly auto switch off without warning low batt when e batt is ran out =( Lucky is still under warranty.

We went for lunch at Wisma food republic after i got my phone exchanged. As usual, I ordered e popular fried hokkien mee, my sis ordered pad thai & my twins ordered malay rice. We got ourselves e recently open Share Tea beside Isetan =) My twins had red bean milk tea & my sis & I shared a large Happy QQ Family milk tea. We saw e recipe of this happy qq family milk tea quite special so we decided to give it a try. It's a mixture of pudding, coconut jelly, herbal jelly & pearl. Look like ice kachang right LOL But it tastes not bad, especially e pudding was very smooth & soft. *satisfy* Share Tea prices are slightly more expensive than Koi. Guess recently e trend of milk tea is back in agn. Still heard of Gong Cha at vivo but not yet try out. Will definitely try out when I'm there ;)

We continue to stroll around & wait for e sky to dark so that we can take e xmas lighting =) Almost every year I will take one night stroll down orchard & take photo of e xmas lighting. This year, I hasn't done so & is already e last weekend before xmas. But this year lighting wasn't that pretty. I only find those muscial instruments at Ion much more attractive than others.

gathering with pri sch frens

hand warmer
hand massager

Had our very first primary school dinner with the gals on friday. Guess this is e very first time we all gather together after so many years & also for xmas. We met up at bugis & decided to have steamboat =) Guess most of the people will know that Liang Seah St has quite a no. of steamboat stalls with prices about the same. As I was early & already super hungry, I decided to queue for KOI ;) Ordered coconut jelly milk tea this time round & finished up in less than 10min while waiting for one of my friend who went to grab new sandals. After that, the three of us who reached earlier went down e street to each of e steamboat shop to see e variety of food available. There are those traditional steamboat with two soup base or one soup base with bbq grill. Korean steamboat is also available. End up, we decided to dine at tian tian huo guo =) They have lots of variety & especially e crabs are nice & fresh. Luv to grill e scallop as it tastes specially delicious. A table & steamboat loaded with lots of food, full of laughters & craps too =p
We finished off at around 1030pm & head to tcc for a drink and gift exchange. Actually not really gift exchange because we decided not to have. But one of my friend & I still buy gifts for everyone. Her reason was she didn't buy for last yr when she was away oversea. And I bought gifts because I found it strange without gifts on xmas gathering. And yes, it supposed to be a xmas dinner =) And thnx to my santa rena who bought me a hand warmer massage from action city =)

When we reached, e aircon area was full house & the waiter put us to the non-aircon area outside e restaurant. The service was damn terrible on that night. After issuing us the menu, all the waiters & waitress vanished from our sight. We were simply being ignored, no matter how hard we tried to get their attention to take order. None of them even bother to look out at e non-aircon area. Finally, a young 'lucky' waiter noticed us. You must be wondering why is e word lucky in invert commas. That's because he got scolding from me for the poor service =p The moment he walked to us, I told him off straight. He then explained that there was someone vomitted, that's why all e crew were busy cleaning up. Whatever, I don't think a cleaning up required e whole crew to attend to it. They should still have at least 1-2 waiters/waitress serving other customers. Ok, shall not let this affect e night.

We proceed to order our drink. I ordered exoctic french hot tea, two of my friends order coffee & one ordered bael cold tea. Fyi, exoctic french tea & bael tea are one of e new drink in e menu. Exoctic french tea comes in e taste of floral fragrance. Bael tea is for detoxify & cleansing. Don't know is it because of e steamboat or e gd effective of bael tea, my poor friend visited e toilet after 2 slips of e tea. And her tummy wasn't well for e rest of e night. We were still teasing her that e tea was really that effective.

nice art piece

Surprise to see the nice art piece of my indian neighbour at my hse corridor step. Recently, my indian neighbour has been drawing this beautiful art piece using rice water & cloth at their doorstep. Freehand drawing somemore. It's really nice. My parents saw it & compliment. My indian neighbour decided to draw one for us too with e word 'welcome' =) She says that it stand for some good luck wish. Admire some indians as they are really good in these type of art stuffs.
