festive season

Year end festive season round the corner again. A good line up of places to visit on every weekends. Various cartoon performances at shopping malls as well as orchard street lighting decorations.

First was the carebear performance held at Suntec City, follow by Hello Kitty decoration display at Changi Airport T3, Pikachu meet and greet at Hillion and last but not least the lighting decoration at Orchard. And not forgetting the first time participation at Santa Run for wish.

minion theme cafe

Rare visit to theme cafe. Because it is festive season, decided to have light dinner at minion cafe before walking down the streets at Orchard for viewing of christmas lightings. Food are always presented nicely and pretty. However, taste was not that fantastic. Don't bother to try if you are not free hahaha

winter wonderland

Never failed to visit the annual winter wonderland held at Garden by the Bay. So far the decoration looks the same to me every year hahaha However, took some rides because my girls have grown up alittle for the kiddy rides. Accompanied adult has to paid for certain rides too, which I find they should standardize they charges. Nevertheless, the rides ($6 per ride per pax) and games are considered expensive.

traditional mooncake

This is my second time airfrying traditional mooncake. Yes, use airfryer to bake the mooncakes instead of oven. Simple recipe adopted online. It is easy that you can success even on your first attempt. Soft and not too sweet. Of course, I did reduce the golden syrup to 50-60g instead of 80g from original recipe. Used white lotus paste as filling and with salted egg yolk too.

snowskin mooncake

Snowskin mooncake is still my favourite type of mooncake. However, a delicious snowskin mooncake is quite costly. Decided to make my own this year when i came across snowskin premix when shopping at Phoon Huat for my airfry mooncake ingredients.

Did it in purple color because it is my girl's favourite color, not because it is yam filling. I used Goldtree brand low sugar white lotus paste as filling. Love the soft texture of the paste.

Did second batch using dragon fruit juice as coloring. Extracted the juice out from dragon fruit. This time round made using pure lotus paste from Goldtree brand and salted egg yolk. Love the nice color hehe

baker's oven yam mooncake

I am super duper happy to be able to purchase Baker's Oven yam mooncake with single yolk from Qoo10 this year. The moment I saw this deal, I immediately place my order. It allows me to select my preferred delivery timeslot. It is really convenient to purchase online and had it delivered to my house. For the past years, I purchased from Vivo Tangs mooncake fair and always have to wait for the stock to be delivered to the booth. It is not available daily and only when nearer to mid-autumn.

wonderheart bear cake

My daughter has requested for her favourite wonderheart bear theme birthday cake this year. It is hard to buy a carebear cake as no bakeries has the license to sell. Prima deli had the license long long time ago.

Manage to find one homebaker with reasonable price and beautiful artwork. Thanks to Corine and Cake for the beautiful personalised fondant cake topper. Vanilla strawberry buttercream cake.

It is a Leo design cake for his birthday this year. Made using castella cake with blueberry filling.

birthday dessert table

First time setting up a proper dessert table for my girl first year old party. Not perfect though. However, was too busy and missed out taking photo of the overall party scene. Bought some goodie bags and myla handheld balloons for the kids according to the birthday theme.

My only homemade pastry are the blueberry muffins. Purchased the egg shape agar agar from Food Mapping (last 30 eggshells for my order) and nutella blossom from Blossom Treats.

Catering was from Grain Catering. Nice halal food. It was a healthier choice of buffet too with the ingredients used. Chose 11 course because I love the seafood chawamushi and poached dory in light seafood cream sauce with squid and mussel. Worth the price.

Great catch up with the girls at Hoshino for lunch. There are a few lunch promotion type available. We ordered the promotion 2 selected main dishes for S$35 that come with 2 selected drinks. Taste not too bad.

Pretty and affordable fresh flowers from Giant Supermarket. They offer flower bouquets on special occassion like valentines day and mother's day. $15.99 per bouquet for the below. Recommended as it is worth the price and if you are going on budget. They do also sell just one stalk.

It has been quite sometime since I have fruits salad for breakfast. It not strictly health as I cannot live without salad dressing. Manage to get my roasted sesame dressing from supermarket hehe

good start of year 2017

It is a good start of a brand new year of 2017 with the winning of hamper from company pre-cny lucky draw. This is also the first time winning hamper in festive lucky draw. Hopefully things will sail smoothly for the year.
